The Workspaces
The Residency at Casa Gràcia is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood in the heart of Mahon and offers three different spaces where residents can think and experiment: the Studio for visual artists, the Study for writers, and the Garden for everyone.
The Studio
Visual artists have access to the Studio, a former nightclub recently converted into a state-of-the-art studio space flooded with natural light.
The Study
Writers live and work in the Study, the secluded top floor of the residence that includes their bedroom and a private study for reading and writing.
The Garden
All residents have access to the Garden, a hidden gem and the largest private walled green space in the city center. This lush, magical garden boasts mature plantings, an outdoor kitchen, patio, and lap pool.
"There is something profoundly moving about Menorca. I first traveled here many years ago and was immediately struck by the island’s mystical atmosphere. Scattered throughout the island are prehistoric talayotic structures, ancient stone monuments that quietly hold the memory of another time and civilization. Menorca is unique among the Balearic Islands for this extraordinary archaeological presence, and there is something deeply humbling about existing alongside that kind of history and mystery.
The island has an energy that encourages reflection, imagination, and creative openness. For me, Menorca has always been a place that expands inner space where ideas surface more freely and where creativity feels connected to something both personal and ancient.
It brings me great joy to create this residency alongside Rashid and to share this special place with other artists and creatives. My hope is to build not only a space for work, but a true creative haven where artists can explore ideas with renewed energy, and a deeper relationship to their own creative process.”
